Go south over Vauxhall Bridge to reach Vauxhall Cross and follow the signs for the A202 which will take you a short distance along Kennington Lane, then right into Durham St and then left into Harleyford Rd. At the second set of traffic lights turn right onto the A23 Brixton Rd signposted Gatwick and Brighton and follow the A23 for about 16 miles through Brixton, Streatham, Thornton Heath, Purley, Coulsdon and Hooley. After leaving Hooley take the left hand fork signposted M23 (Gatwick and Brighton). Follow the M23 for about 14 miles and take exit 10A. At the first roundabout take the second exit marked B2036 for Balcombe and Cuckfield and follow Balcombe Rd for about 3.5 miles until you reach a mini-roundabout at which you should take the first exit onto Haywards Heath Rd. Follow this road for about 4.5 miles until you are in the outskirts of Haywards Heath. There is a sharp left hand bend (opposite Burrell Rd) and immediately after passing under the railway bridge turn right onto Mill Green Rd. Go straight over the next roundabout and continue for 0.5 miles along Perrymount Rd and the Broadway until you join the one way system. Keep left and follow the A272 which takes you left into South Rd. At the next roundabout take the third exit onto Frankton Rd and continue for 0.6 miles. At the next roundabout take the second exit and the Birch Hotel is on your left immediately after the Shell garage.

From Heathrow: Depending on which terminal you leave from, you may have direct access to the M25 or have to go along the M4 westbound first to reach the M25.
